📚 Education Without Borders: Supporting Romanian Families in the UK

Published on 8 February 2026 at 14:59

Education continues to be a priority topic on the agenda of the Romanian Consulate General Manchester, particularly when it comes to supporting Romanian families raising and educating children abroad.

Recently, the Consulate hosted a dedicated meeting focused on educational pathways for Romanian children born outside Romania or relocated to the UK. Adina Drenga, Principal of Britannia International Academy, together with Ana-Iulia Morgam, Head of Marketing and UK Lead, represented the Academy during these discussions.

A child-centred approach to education

The meeting highlighted the importance of education tailored to each child’s individual journey. For children growing up in diaspora communities, an adapted educational approach is essential to ensure:

  • Stability and confidence in learning

  • Clear academic and professional perspectives

  • Continuity between different educational systems

When education reflects both the child’s personal development and cultural background, it creates a strong foundation for long-term academic success and future career opportunities.

Britannia International Academy’s commitment

At Britannia International Academy, we believe that education should offer more than academic achievement—it should provide security, continuity, and a sense of belonging. Our engagement with consular and community institutions reflects our ongoing commitment to supporting Romanian families in the UK through high-quality, adaptable, and internationally minded education.

By working alongside diplomatic and community partners, we contribute to a broader ecosystem that promotes inclusion, educational excellence, and strong connections between families, schools, and institutions.
